@Helgi: No, this was actually taken a few months ago.
Somehow the last couple looked happier, even though the cheery balloon does make a nice contrasting element.

Both are looking off in different directions, and it's like the big red balloon is leading them. A very interesting capture.
What great composition, Josh. Those two sure look - disgusted/unhappy/confused. Definitely not having a good time. Was there a child in the middle holding the balloon maybe.

At first glance I thought the guy looked a little like Owen Wilson. I like the red of the balloon reflected in his face. You ever get confronted by people you're taking pictures of?

@Twelvebit: I haven't yet. I've read a bunch of people who do this all the time and don't usually get confronted. However, when I shoot people its usually with a telephoto so I'm not actually all that close.
Great picture. I really like the red balloon and the deliberate exclusion of the child holding it.
